Our screening Assessments are completely customized instruments (typically based on the internal best practices of your own top performers), so they differ for every client. That means we do not have a single validity score that applies across all clients. Instead, we establish validity for each client as follows:

  • Divide your existing team into 3 groups based on your current KPI’s – High Performers, Average Performers, and Under Performers. Administer the Assessment either to all, or to an equal number randomly selected from each group.
  • When the Assessment results in higher scores from Top Performers, and lower scores for Under Performers, we have an instrument that is validated as a predictor of performance within that job function.

Face Validity
The test questions look normal – they include questions you would expect to be asked. (Nothing personal).

Our Assessments have strong Face Validity as the questions are created based on the competencies and skills required to perform a single specific job function.

Construct Validity
The test questions are aimed at identifying deep seated drivers like intelligence, dominance, extraversion, etc.

Our Assessments do not seek to determine underlying personality traits – instead, we seek to identify the proficiency and/or aptitude of the applicant to perform the necessary behaviors and skills resulting from those traits.

Content Validity
The test questions look like the content of the job – a typing job would have questions about typing speed, etc.

Our Assessments have strong Content Validity because the questions are built entirely upon competencies, skills and behaviors observed in your own top performers – so questions are completely relevant to performing the job.

Criterion Validity
The test results can be linked to performance (When you have clearly measurable criterion.)

Our Assessments have strong Criterion Validity because our Custom Assessments are best practice-based, and top performers will score better on a best-practice based Assessment than Average or Under Performers.
